Marsh (Oxenhope): what to know before moving day
The landmark is Marsh Methodist Chapel, right on Marsh Lane. It began in 1836 as a Sunday school and was enlarged into a chapel in 1874; it is a listed, single-storey stone building and one of the two Methodist churches in the Oxenhope area. Around it the older houses are stone: Moor House, to the east, is an early 19th-century house with a barn that probably dates from the 16th century, and The Old Hall is a late 18th-century house of five bays.
The lanes are the part to check before moving day. OpenStreetMap shows Hoyle Syke Lane, beside the Hoyle Syke stream, with a paved length and a gravel length, and Hanging Gate Lane, Moorhouse Lane and Old Oxenhope Lane as the other roads nearby. Upper Marsh is mapped as a separate hamlet close by, and Old Oxenhope Farm is marked a little way off. If your house is off the gravel section or down a farm track, say so with the booking.
How the van gets to Marsh (Oxenhope)
The route data from Bradford runs along the B6144 through Cullingworth and down Brow Top Road into Haworth, then takes Bridgehouse Lane (B6142) and Sun Street before turning on to Marsh Lane for the last stretch to the chapel.
