Holmfield (Halifax): what to know before moving day
Holmfield railway station opened in 1878 and became a junction for the lines to Queensbury, Halifax and the Halifax High Level branch. It closed to passengers in 1955 and to goods by 1960, and OpenStreetMap still traces the old trackbeds. The bridge carrying Holdsworth Road at the north end of the station survives, with a flooded cutting beyond, and Holmfield Industrial Estate lies nearby.

How the van gets to Holmfield (Halifax)
Shay Lane runs through Holmfield and meets the A629 Ovenden Road, part of the Halifax to Keighley road, while Holdsworth Road heads off towards Holdsworth and Illingworth. From the Queensbury side, Howcans Lane and Churn Milk Lane link the A647 Queensbury Road with Shay Lane, one way in from Bradford.
