Harecroft: what to know before moving day
The main road through the hamlet is the B6144, Haworth Road, and some addresses along it use Harecroft as the street name: the Station Hotel is 122 Harecroft, BD15 0BP. Further on, the B6144 is named Hewenden Bridge where it crosses the beck and then Cullingworth Road, both with 40 mph limits. Bents Lane, Harrop Lane and Old Allen Road are the other lanes that meet it.
Hewenden Viaduct carried the Great Northern line between Keighley and Thornton over the valley: 17 arches, 123 feet high and 576 yards long, opened in 1883 and closed to trains in 1963. It has been Grade II listed since 1985 and has carried the Great Northern Railway Trail for walkers and cyclists since 2005. Down by the beck, a three-storey, twelve-bay mill of the early 19th century is also listed.
How the van gets to Harecroft
The B6144 is the through road: Haworth Road on the Wilsden side, then Hewenden Bridge and Cullingworth Road. Station Road leaves Haworth Road in the hamlet and runs west with a 20 mph limit to the Great Northern Railway Trail. Because some houses are numbered on Harecroft rather than on Haworth Road, give the house number and postcode together.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 15 to 30 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

Why was Wilsden station in Harecroft?
The Great Northern Railway opened it in 1886 about 2 miles from Wilsden village, much closer to the hamlet of Harecroft. It closed to passengers in 1955 and to goods in 1963. Station Road and the Station Hotel keep the name, so a Station Road address is here, not in the middle of Wilsden.
