Sofa & Bed Delivery in Bingley

Lift, stairwell or front step: fitting a new settee into a Bingley home

In a flat with a lift, the lift sets the limit. Ask the building for the lift car's inside depth and height and the width of the corridor to your door, then compare them with the sofa's longest side. Many three-seaters only make it standing on end, so a model with removable feet and a lift-off back helps. If the lift is too small, the stairwell is the fallback, and it is better to know that before a delivery date is fixed.

Beds in the older terraces are about the staircase and the bedroom door. A wooden frame comes apart and is put back together upstairs, and a divan base arrives in two halves that climb easily. The awkward piece is a king or super king mattress on a narrow stair with a turn at the top, because it goes up on its side and is never folded to get round. Measure the stair width and the headroom at the turn, and you will be told before the day whether it goes.

Numbers to send before a Bingley sofa or bed is booked

• For a flat over the Main Street shops, the width of the shared stair and the landing at the top
• For a Park Road or Mornington Road terrace, the step up from the pavement and the stair width and headroom at any turn
• Whether the old bed frame needs taking apart first so the new one can go in
• The retailer's order reference and collection hours, if it is coming from a store
