Cotton Tree: what to know before moving day
The B6250 is called Cotton Tree Lane on its way out of Colne and Trawden Road further on, with The Cotton Tree pub and the Lee Garden takeaway at the start of Trawden Road. Ball Grove Park, with its pond and the Lakeside Cafe, lies along Colne Water, and Christ Church and Colne Christ Church primary school are nearby. Those make easy meeting points if the van needs to find a side street.
South of the main road is Winewall, where Rosley Street crosses Colne Water on a listed early 19th-century stone bridge. Winewall Farmhouse, a row of three dated 1690, Winewall House with Spergarth Cottage, and Hill Top Farmhouse, dated 1661 and since made into four dwellings, are listed stone buildings, alongside rows such as Hartington Street, Bright Street and Holme Street. How the van gets to Cotton Tree
Coming from Bradford the van reaches Colne from the east on Keighley Road, the A6068, and Cotton Tree Lane branches off it on the east side of town. The B6250 then carries on as Trawden Road. Winewall Lane and Winewall Road lead down into Winewall, and Lane Top and Hill Top climb the other side.
