Moving in Blazefield: what to know first
Blazefield sits well above Pateley Bridge, and the B6265 climbs to it from the B6165 up Blazefield Bank, a steep pull with 40 and 60 mph limits. Several short residential ways off it are unsurfaced, so for a house on one, say whether the van can get to the door or should stop on the bank.
Blazefield: the local picture
Blazefield lies along a main road, which is the thing to plan for. A cast iron milepost of the mid-19th century stands on the south-east side of the B6265 here, with the distances to Skipton, Pateley Bridge and Ripon on its faces, and it makes a handy marker for the driver. Kiln Hill Farmhouse, late 18th century with a Gothic-traceried fanlight over the door, also sits on Blazefield Bank.
Sandy Lane leaves the main road close to the hamlet, and farms such as Bishop Keld Farm, Kings Farm, Kiln Hill Farm and New Causeway Farm are dotted around. The parish name means the bishop's hillside, from the Archbishop of York's old manor of Ripon, and its council goes by the name Pateley Bridge Town Council. If your house fronts the B6265, say so, and a loading spot off the road can be worked out in advance.
How the van gets to Blazefield
From Bradford the van follows the B6451 from Pool to Summerbridge, then the B6165 north-west for about four kilometres towards Pateley Bridge, and turns onto the B6265 for the last 600 metres up Blazefield Bank. The bus stops at Glasshouses Lane End and Lupton Bank Top are the nearest on the valley road.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 50 to 65 minutes. That is an estimate, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

Frequently asked questions: man with a van in Blazefield
Which way does the van come onto Blazefield Bank?
From the valley road: it leaves the B6165 near Glasshouses and climbs the B6265 for a few hundred metres. The same road carries on to Ripon, so a Ripon-side approach is possible too.
Can the van use The Raikes to reach Blazefield?
Only if your house is on it. The Raikes is a narrow road marked Local Access Only, so for anywhere else the van stays on Blazefield Bank and the B6165.
Why do Blazefield council letters come from a town council when it is a hamlet?
Because Blazefield is in High and Low Bishopside parish, and that parish's council has called itself Pateley Bridge Town Council since the town was given town status in 1986. The postcode district is HG3.
