Which crossing, and which half of the town
The town splits cleanly in two for this kind of work. The valley-floor terraces around Newgate, Station Road and Easthorpe have no off-street parking and are squeezed further by all-day commuter parking spilling out of the station, so a wide item means a shuttle from the nearest legal stop, or a bay suspension arranged with Kirklees for something big. Up at Battyeford, Northorpe and Upper Hopton there are driveways, and the van gets to the door.
Getting between the two halves is the bit people underestimate. The rail corridor and the level crossings around Northorpe limit which way a van with a 3.4-metre load space can travel north to south, and the climbs up to Upper Hopton and Roe Head come straight off the valley floor, steep and narrow. Canalside and mill conversions along the navigation are worth a question of their own, because some kept the original stairs the building was born with.
What Mirfield sofa & bed delivery usually involves
- Twelve miles and the easiest run of this group, the M606 onto the M62, off at junction 25 and down the A644 Huddersfield Road, with the A641 through Wyke and Cleckheaton as the fallback when the motorway is blocked
- The A644 corridor towards junction 25 queues badly at peak, so a mid-morning slot usually beats an eight o'clock one here
- The valley floor has a real flood history, the Calder reaching 5.4 metres at Ledgard Bridge in Storm Ciara and putting Calder View, Back Station Road and Newgate under water, so a winter delivery to a low-lying address gets a weather check first
- Hillside and estate properties at Battyeford, Hopton and Northorpe mostly have drives, which is the difference between a doorstep drop and a shuttle
- Old sofa or bed out and away on the same visit as the new one goes in, if you want it gone; we do not clear whole properties, garages or gardens
Where in Mirfield we work
- Newgatevalley-floor terraces with no off-street parking and a crossing at one end of the street
- Station Roadall-day commuter parking, so a wide item is shuttled from the nearest legal stop
- Battyeforda canal-bridge approach but driveways at the house, straightforward once you are across
- Upper Hopton and Roe Headsteep, narrow climbs straight off the valley floor, driven empty first where we can
- Northorpesemis with drives, though the level crossings shape which way the van comes in
- Shepley Bridgecanalside addresses and mill conversions where the original stairs decide what fits
If your street isn't listed it's almost certainly still covered, Mirfield and the surrounding WF14 postcodes are all inside our normal working area.
Common Mirfield runs
- Bradford → Mirfieldtwelve miles by the M606, the M62 and junction 25, usually a same-day job

What it costs
The difference between a drive-up on the hillside and a shuttle from a valley-floor terrace is the main thing that moves a Mirfield price. There's no travel surcharge for coming to Mirfield from Bradford, and you get the price before we set off, not after. See how we quote for the full breakdown.
Frequently asked questions: sofa & bed delivery in Mirfield
Can you deliver a sofa in Mirfield the same day?
Usually. Mirfield is twelve miles from us, straight down the M606 and M62 to junction 25, with no Pennine crossing and most of it motorway or dual carriageway. That makes it one of the quickest towns we cover, so a morning collection and an afternoon delivery is a normal day rather than a special arrangement.
My flat is a canalside mill conversion. Will a corner sofa go up?
It depends on what the conversion kept. Some have generous original openings and a sensible way in; others left the narrow mill stairs exactly as they were, which a corner section will not negotiate in one piece. Send a photo of the stairwell and the door at the top and we will tell you which yours is before you buy.
Where will the van stand on Station Road?
Not outside, most likely. The terraces there have no off-street parking and the street fills with all-day commuter parking from the station, so we work from the closest legal stop and shuttle in. For something genuinely large it is worth asking Kirklees to suspend a bay for the slot, and we will tell you if the job needs it.
