Roundhay: what to know before moving day
The grandest houses are on Park Avenue and West Avenue, where the architect George Corson won a competition in 1873 to design villas on plots of an acre or more, with coach houses and stables at the back. Most of Roundhay is newer. A suburb grew round Lidgett Park once the park opened in 1872, helped by the electric tram from 1891, and the council's land sales insisted on stone for building. How the van gets to Roundhay
From Bradford one straightforward line is the Leeds Outer Ring Road (A6120), which runs along the northern edge of Roundhay Park, then south into the suburb. From the city side, Roundhay Road runs out past Harehills to Oakwood, and Wetherby Road runs east past Park Avenue. Park Avenue is roughly 30 to 45 minutes from Bradford on our estimate.

Can the van get down a long private drive on Park Avenue?
Usually, but it depends on the width, the gates and any overhanging trees. The van is a long wheelbase Transit, so tell us about the drive and send a photo of the entrance, and we will say whether to load at the door or at the road.
Is Roundhay Park owned by the council?
Leeds City Council manages it, but the park is held for the people of Leeds rather than owned by the council. For a move it makes no difference, except that park events can fill the surrounding roads.
