Mount Tabor: what to know before moving day
Mount Tabor Methodist Church of 1820 is the village's listed chapel, with two storeys and a basement and a porch added around 1860. Most homes are on the streets behind the main roads: Heather Drive, Whernside Way, Aysgarth Crescent and the two Waindale streets. The Spring Head farm shop and cafe is by the junction, and there is a recreation ground along with Ramsden Wood and its reservoir just outside the village.
One post box here is painted gold, to mark one of Hannah Cockroft's gold medals at the 2012 Paralympics, which makes a handy landmark when you are giving directions. Stocks Lane leaves the village and runs all the way down into Luddenden, in the next valley.
