Mill Bridge: what to know before moving day
Millbridge is a crossroads place. The A638 arrives from Cleckheaton as Bradford Road and leaves towards Heckmondwike as Westgate, the A62 crosses as Leeds Road and Huddersfield Road, and Halifax Road, the A649, branches off. Tucked behind the junction is a grid of short named streets: Barker Street, Union Road and Union Street, Wellington Street, Nelson Street and Melbourne Street.
Millbridge Park, with its crown green bowls club, is the open space at the heart of it, and Millbridge Primary Academy, the working men's club and the fish shop are all close by. Spen Beck runs close by. On streets this tight, a van cannot always stop at the door, so if yours has double yellow lines or a narrow bend, say so when you book.
How the van gets to Mill Bridge
From Bradford, the M606 meets the M62 at Chain Bar, junction 26. The A638 then runs south through Cleckheaton and Littletown and becomes Bradford Road at the A62 crossing in Millbridge, near the Millbridge filling station. Union Road and Knowler Hill lead off into the side streets.
