Knotts: what to know before moving day
Colne station, the end of the East Lancashire Line, is mapped on Leach Street in Knotts. It is only a single platform and a shelter now: the old station was pulled down in 1971, a year after the line on to Skipton closed. Pendle Leisure Centre, with two pools and a sports hall, is next door, and Boundary Mill Stores moved in 2008 into purpose-built premises close to the end of the M65.
The residential streets include Knotts Lane, Knotts Drive and Knotts Mount, Leach Street, Crabtree Street, Green Road, The Sidings and Shaw Street, nearly all at 20 mph. Lord Street Primary School and Sacred Heart Catholic Church are here too. Alkincoats Road leads towards Alkincoats Park, off the road to Barrowford, with its bowling greens and footpaths towards the canal.
How the van gets to Knotts
The A6068 Vivary Way passes the district, and the B6247 runs through as Crown Way and Barrowford Road towards Barrowford, with North Valley Road also close. From Bradford the van arrives on the east side of Colne, on the A6068 from Keighley or the A56 from Skipton, and heads west through town to the station end.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 45 to 55 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

Can you catch a train east to Skipton from the Knotts end of Colne?
No, only west. Colne is the terminus of the East Lancashire Line, and trains run through Nelson, Brierfield, Burnley and Blackburn towards Preston and Blackpool. The line east to Skipton closed in 1970.
