Holme (BD4): what to know before moving day
The hamlet survives along Ned Lane. Holme Farmhouse, from the late 17th or early 18th century, and its barn are Grade II listed, as are 16 Ned Lane with a barn dated 1687, 18 and 20 Ned Lane with their barn, and 25 Ned Lane, a pair of cottages of about 1800 with a sandstone front and red brick sides. Holme Farm is still marked on the map.
Around it is Holme Wood, the council estate built in the 1950s and opened in 1957, managed by Incommunities and Bradford Council. Most of it is low-rise, and the only two tall blocks are Ogden House and Kelvin House on Danecourt Road. Valley Natural Play Park runs along the upper course of Holme Beck right beside the hamlet, Pit Hill Park is on the green belt edge towards Tong village, and Ryecroft Primary Academy is on Kesteven Close.
How the van gets to Holme (BD4)
Broadstone Way is the main road through the estate, a 30 mph road that meets Tong Street, the A650, as well as Tyersal Lane and Knowles Lane. Ned Lane links Tyersal Lane and Holme Lane with the old hamlet, and Holme Lane continues to Raikes Lane and Royd Moor Road. For a flat in Ogden House or Kelvin House, say which floor it is on and whether the lift is working when you book.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 10 to 25 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

Is Holme the same place as Holme Wood?
Holme is the older hamlet on Ned Lane, once called Holme Shaw. Holme Wood is the 1950s estate built around it, and residents often write it as one word, Holmewood. Both have BD4 postcodes, so give the street name.
