Alwoodley: what to know before moving day
The middle of Alwoodley is not housing at all but open land, including Moortown Golf Club, the rugby club and old farmland called Alwoodley Moss. The houses sit in four blocks around it. The Grammar School at Leeds and Allerton High School are the big schools in the area, and the route of the Roman road from Ilkley to Tadcaster crosses Alwoodley; part of it was dug up along Lakeland Crescent in 1994.
