Collecting from a Featherstone seller's door
On terraces such as Granville Street or Hartley Terrace the van stops on the street, and the item comes straight from the front door. Private roads are a different matter: Durban Close, Jardine Avenue, Southfield Avenue and Warren Court are not public highways, so the seller should know the van is coming. St Thomas Road is one-way, so the van approaches from the right end.
Agree the collection time with the seller first, and check the item is ready to go: a wardrobe emptied, a bed taken apart or left for the driver to dismantle, a sofa with the cushions bagged. Payment is between you and the seller; the driver loads, wraps and drives it to your address. Sellers on the newer closes around Larkspur Drive and Wingreen Way may have a drive to load from, while a terrace seller near the level crossing may need the van parked a few doors along, with the piece carried down the pavement.

Marketplace Collection in Featherstone: your questions
Can you check the item before paying?
The driver can send a photo on arrival, but cannot judge the condition for you. Agree that with the seller.
Can you collect from two sellers?
Yes, if both are on the way. Give both addresses when booking.
The seller is on a private road. Is that a problem?
Not if the residents know. Durban Close, Jardine Avenue, Southfield Avenue and Warren Court are private, so ask the seller to warn neighbours, and the van parks where it blocks nobody's drive.
Can the item come to a Bradford buyer the same trip?
Yes. Bradford is where the van is based, so a Featherstone pick-up with a Bradford drop fits neatly into one run, and the price covers both ends.
What if the item does not fit?
That is why the listing measurements are checked first. Anything up to 3.4m long, within 1.3m across the arches and below 1.7m tall goes in, and an oversized piece is flagged before you pay the seller.
