Scott Hall: what to know before moving day
The estate takes its name from Scott Hall Farm. The sports field where Scott Hall Road meets Potternewton Lane was once part of the farm, and the farmhouse itself, on Scott Hall Street, is Grade II listed. Bronte House, a large 1930s building at the corner of Buslingthorpe Lane and Scott Hall Drive, is now flats. Just north of Potternewton Lane, in Miles Hill, are the shops and Scott Hall Leisure Centre, and Scott Hall Oval is the ground of the Caribbean Cricket Club.
Scott Hall Road is a dual carriageway with sections of kerb-guided bus route near Potternewton, so the van may not be able to stop right outside a house that faces it. If your front door is on the main road, look at whether a side street such as Scott Hall Avenue, Scott Hall Drive or one of the Reginald streets is closer, and say so. Part of the Leeds Half Marathon runs along Scott Hall Road, so avoid race day.
How the van gets to Scott Hall
The A61 does the work. From Bradford, the A647 and the Leeds Inner Ring Road bring the van to the Sheepscar Interchange, and Scott Hall Road climbs north from there straight through the estate towards the Outer Ring Road.
