Moorbottom: what to know before moving day
St Luke's Church, built in 1887 to 1889 in Gothic Revival style, has a three-stage tower with clock faces and a hexagonal broach spire, and it is Grade II listed. Around it are short streets and terraces: School Street, Poplar Grove, Broomfield Terrace, Broom Street, Shaw Street, Fox Street and St Luke's Terrace. Victoria Mills and the Lion Confectionery works are on the edge of the housing, and The Punch Bowl pub is close by.
West End Park and the Heaton Avenue primary school lie towards Whitcliffe, and Wellands Lane runs out past the fields of Hall Royds, part of it as a bridleway. If your terrace has no drive and the kerb outside is often full, say so when you ask for a price, and the quote will allow for a longer carry to the van.
How the van gets to Moorbottom
The A643 is the road through Moorbottom. Eastwards it becomes Westgate into the centre of Cleckheaton; westwards, as Moorside, it heads for Hartshead Moor Top, Clifton and Brighouse. From Bradford, the M606 meets the M62 at Chain Bar, just north of Cleckheaton, and the van comes down through town and out along Westgate.
