Church Garforth: what to know before moving day
Church Lane is the through road, with St Mary's, The Podger pub and Croft Foulds Court close together and the church-named streets around them: Church Approach, Church Square, Church Place, Church Gardens, St Marys Close and Rectory Close. Oak Avenue, Oak Crescent, Oak Drive and Oak Grove have allotments named after them, and Glebelands Recreation Ground, where Garforth Tigers play rugby league, is close to the squash and leisure centre.
The Leeds to York line passes close by. Just east of Garforth station was the junction for the branch to Castleford via Ledston, which lost its passenger trains in 1951 and closed completely in the 1990s. Station Fields leaves Church Lane towards Station Road.
How the van gets to Church Garforth
Church Lane runs from Lidgett Lane and Main Street on the west side of town across to Ninelands Lane, so the van can come in from the A63 Selby Road by Lidgett Lane, or from Aberford Road, the A642, by Bar Lane and Ninelands Lane.
