West Garforth: what to know before moving day
Homes here are on the Westbourne streets (Avenue, Crescent, Drive, Gardens, Grove and Terrace), Ringway, Goosefield Rise, Abbotsway, Knightsway and the Alandale roads, with Scholars Gate and Rockley Grange Gardens by the school corner. The Aberford Railway, known locally as the fly line, met the main line at Garforth station and closed in 1924; its route is now a public path used by walkers, riders and pupils going to and from Garforth Academy. Church Lane leaves Lidgett Lane here for Church Garforth.
How the van gets to West Garforth
Coming from the M1, junction 46 at Thorpe Park puts the van on the A63 Selby Road heading east. It meets the A642 at Garforth, and then comes the turning for Lidgett Lane beside the academy. The A642 Wakefield Road carries on from Swillington towards junction 47.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 35 to 45 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.
