Baildon Green: what to know before moving day
The green itself is a strip of grass along Green Road, with the Cricketers Arms pub and the Church on the Green beside it. Baildon Bank, an area of scrub with a quarried cliff that climbers use, is right next to it, with Midgley Wood and Fairbank Wood on its edges. Midgley Farmhouse and Farm Cottages, a late 17th-century stone range with a stone slate roof, is a listed building a short way off.
Most homes are on the estates around it: Central Avenue, The Oval, Reins Avenue, Bertram Drive, Denby Drive and Fernbank Drive, largely inside a 20 mph zone. Sandal Primary School is on West Lane and Baildon Glen Primary School on Thompson Lane, so a loading slot outside either is best kept clear of the school run. For a flat or a first-floor room, measure the stairs before booking a large wardrobe.
How the van gets to Baildon Green
From Bradford the van comes out along the A650 to Shipley, crosses the Aire valley and joins the A6038 Otley Road, Baildon's main road. Green Lane leaves Otley Road and meets Green Road at the green, with Thompson Lane and Coach Road also joining Green Lane. Green Road carries a 30 mph limit, and the estate roads off it are mostly 20 mph.
