Three ways out of Barlick for a long move

Barnoldswick has no motorway close by, and every road into town is a B road, so the first half hour of a long move is on country roads. For London, about 229 miles, the van goes by Skipton, Keighley and Bradford to the M62 and M1. For Manchester and on to the Midlands or the south-west, it goes the other way: the B6383 through Salterforth, the A56 to Colne and the M65. For Lancaster, the Lake District or Scotland, it leaves on Gisburn Road for the A59 and the A65 to reach the M6.

Because the van is based in Bradford, the day starts with the drive over, then loading, then straight to the new address. It is one van with only your belongings on board, with no depot and no transfer to another vehicle. On a very long run a single driver may need an overnight stop, and if that applies it is agreed in the quote, not added on the day.

Preparing a Barlick home for a long run

Have everything packed before the van arrives, since loading time eats into the driving day
Check key collection times at the far end, so the van is not waiting outside a locked house
Sort a permit or bay suspension at the new address if the council there requires one
Send a room list with photos, so we can confirm it fits the 3.4m by 1.3m by 1.7m load space
Keep valuables, documents and medicines with you rather than in the van

What goes into a long-distance price from Barlick

It starts as a planned slot with the drive over from Bradford priced in, and the miles to the new address, the load and any overnight stop make up the one fixed price. See how we quote for the full breakdown.
