Waterside (Brierfield): what to know before moving day
The homes are on a handful of streets off the B6248 Clitheroe Road: Veevers Street, Clarence Street, Belgrave Street, Chatburn Park Drive and Chatburn Park Avenue, with Sykefield, Wood Clough Platts, Jewel Holme and Montfield Hey further along. Montford Road is the unclassified road through, and Pendle Water runs past with a bridleway beside it. The Pennine Cycleway also passes this way.
Pendle Water was the boundary of the old Forest of Pendle. Jewel Mill, across the river in Reedley Hallows, is thought to date from about 1780, when it was started for worsted, and the listed Brierfield Mills of 1868 is about half a kilometre away on the canal. The parish boundary with Old Laund Booth, the parish of Fence, runs close by.
How the van gets to Waterside (Brierfield)
The motorway is on the doorstep here. The Brierfield Interchange, junction 12 of the M65, opens straight onto Clitheroe Road, which heads north as Cuckstool Lane towards Fence. From Bradford the van gets to the M65 at Colne through Keighley or Skipton and follows it west for two junctions.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 50 to 60 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

No. Pendle has two. This Waterside is on Pendle Water at Brierfield, in Reedley Hallows parish and the BB9 district. Colne's Waterside is the old lower town on Colne Water, in BB8, with a page of its own.
