Sough: what to know before moving day
Sough Park is the centre of things. The listed war memorial of 1922, a white Portland stone cenotaph designed by W. A. Quarmby, stands in the park, and an old milestone, moved from its first position, sits in the Sough Memorial Gardens. The park also has a crown green bowls club, which makes it an easy place to describe to a driver.
OpenStreetMap shows the homes on Earby Road, Salterforth Road, Sough Lane and Church Lane, with streets and closes such as Clifton Street, Arthur Street, Park Side, Holme Close, White Leys Close, Kenilworth Drive and Warwick Drive. The map also marks the old Barnoldswick railway junction here, where the branch line to Barnoldswick used to leave the Colne to Skipton line.
How the van gets to Sough
The A56, Colne Road, runs past the western side of Sough between Kelbrook and Earby. From Bradford the van goes by the A629 to Skipton, the A59 west and the A56 south, turning off for Sough just after Earby. Earby Road and Salterforth Road lead west from Sough towards Salterforth.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 45 to 55 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.
