Newton Hill: what to know before moving day
One part of Newton Hill is a set of numbered streets: First Avenue, Second Avenue, Third Avenue and Fourth Avenue, with Grey Street, East Street, Silver Street and King George Street near them. Other estates have themed names. One group is named after cricket, with Wicket Drive, Pavilion Way, Umpire Close, Stumps Close, Seamers Close, Bowlers Court, Trent Bridge Way and The Oval, which suits a place whose cricket club plays in the Leeds-West Riding league. How the van gets to Newton Hill
Leeds Road, the A61, runs through Newton Hill between Wakefield and Outwood, and Bar Lane (A6194) and Ouchthorpe Lane are the other through roads. From Bradford the van can take the M62 east and the M1 south to junction 41, or the A650, and come into Newton Hill on the A61 from the city side.
