Beeston Hill: what to know before moving day
The area was called Cat Beeston until the 19th century gave it the name Beeston Hill; OpenStreetMap also has a Cad Beeston Mews. Housing is older Victorian terraces and newer social housing, which makes up about a third of the stock. Many terraces have a service lane behind them, such as Back Tempest Road, Back Sefton Avenue and Back Stratford Terrace, so tell us whether the front door or the back is easier for loading.
Cross Flatts Park, 44 acres, separates Beeston Hill on the east from Parkside and Cross Flatts on the west, between Dewsbury Road and Town Street. Holbeck Cemetery, opened in 1857, is in Beeston and sits close to these streets despite its name. The poet Tony Harrison grew up on Tempest Road. How the van gets to Beeston Hill
The M621 runs between Beeston Hill and the city centre, which gives quick links to the motorway. From Bradford that means the M606 to junction 26 of the M62, then the M621 towards Leeds. Beeston Road, Tempest Road, Lodge Lane and Cemetery Road are the main streets once you are off it.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 25 to 35 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.

The streets north of Cross Flatts Park are in Hunslet & Riverside, while most of Beeston is in the Beeston & Holbeck ward. Beeston Hill is the northern part of Beeston, east of the park. Both are LS11 and both are Leeds City Council.
