Barrowford kitchens and how the appliance reaches them
In the Lowerford terraces the kitchen is at the back, so the shortest route in can be from the back street rather than through the front room. Back Harry Street and Back Peter Street run behind some rows; say whether yours has a usable back gate. On Gisburn Road, where the cottages front the trunk road, the van waits on a side street, and a washing machine goes in on a trolley along the pavement. Transit bolts should be in before a used machine is moved.
A washing machine can be reconnected to its cold feed and waste hose where the fittings are standard. Dishwashers, cookers and anything gas or hard-wired are not connected. The roof is 1.7m inside, so a tall fridge freezer is checked before you book; send its height or model. The old machine stays with you: Pendle Borough Council's free bulky waste collection takes white goods, booked online.
Getting a Barrowford kitchen ready for the appliance
- Measure the gap and the kitchen door, and check the old machine's fittings are standard
- Fit transit bolts to a used washing machine before it is moved
- Defrost a used fridge freezer the day before and let it stand before switching it on at the new house
- Tell us if the easiest way in is through a back gate on a back street
- Book a bulky waste collection with Pendle for the old appliance; it does not leave with the van
