Halls by Moor Lane, then a shared house in Plungington
First year is a room in halls. Roeburn Hall has 60 en-suite flats for four to seven people, and private blocks such as Moor Lane Halls and Kopa on Moor Lane, Sizer Court on Sizer Street, Urban Hub on Ashmoor Street and Leighton Hall on Leighton Street are a few minutes' walk from the Student Centre. Moor Lane and Walker Street are one way, so the van comes in from the right end and stops where the site allows. Ask your hall how arrivals and move-out days are handled and what time keys are given out.
In second year many students move to shared houses, and near the campus those are in Plungington and Maudland, where the late Victorian terraces nearest the centre house many students. Side streets such as St Mark's Road and Wellington Street are cobbled, so the van stops at the end and the room goes in by trolley. Students from further afield are a longer run: the van can collect from home and bring the room to Preston, or carry it back home at the end of the summer term.

One room, two addresses: how a Preston student move is priced
The distance between the two addresses, how much the room holds and the stairs or lift at each end set the price. A rough list and both postcodes are enough for a fixed figure before the day. See how we quote for the full breakdown.
Student Removals in Preston: your questions
When should I book my end-of-year move out of Preston halls?
Once your tenancy end date is confirmed. Move-out weeks in June and arrival weeks in September book up across every university city, while a date in between needs only a few days' notice.
Can you bring my room from home in Yorkshire to a Preston hall?
Yes. The van starts in Bradford, so collecting from a family home in Leeds, Halifax or Huddersfield and delivering to Moor Lane or Pedder Street is one booking: send the two postcodes, a list and the slot your hall allows.
Can my things go from Preston to a house in Manchester?
Yes. A room from a Preston hall or house to Manchester is about 35 miles by the M61 and M60, priced as one fixed figure.
Is the University of Lancashire the same as UCLan?
Yes. The University of Central Lancashire was approved to change its name to the University of Lancashire in December 2024, and the new name was in full use by September 2025. Its Preston campus and halls are the same.
