Lidget Green: what to know before moving day
Legrams Lane still has farm buildings from the 18th century. Legrams House and its barn date from 1779, the farmhouse and barn at 220 Legrams Lane, from the late 18th century, are now two homes, and 1 Legrams Lane was a lodge. On Club Street, two rows of sandstone cottages from about 1830 face each other, stepped down the slope, and there are more early 19th-century cottages on Cemetery Road. All are Grade II listed.
St Wilfrid's Church, designed by Temple Moore and built in 1905 with a red tiled roof, is the easiest landmark. Lidget Green Primary School, Co-op Academy Princeville, the Ukrainian Community Centre, the ambulance station and Spencer Park are others. Until 1955, Lidget Green shared a station with Great Horton on the Queensbury line, though trams and later trolleybuses along Legrams Lane drew passengers away.
How the van gets to Lidget Green
The A6177 ring road runs along the eastern edge as Horton Grange Road and Ingleby Road. Legrams Lane, Northside Road, Clayton Road and Cemetery Road are the main local roads, with Clayton Road heading out towards Clayton. Princeville Road, Ellercroft Road, Glenlee Road and the Lidget streets are among the residential streets.
