The A649, Halifax Road, runs about 70 metres from Clough Lane and is the main road through Hightown. From Bradford, the M606 ends at Chain Bar, where the A638 starts its run south through Cleckheaton towards Liversedge; Hightown lies to the west of that road, about a kilometre from it. Windy Bank Lane, the B6119, leads off towards Hartshead.
