Topcliffe: what to know before moving day
Most homes here are on the estate built around Glen Road, a 20 mph road with a string of closes and drives off it: Beacon Avenue, Beacon Grove, Oak Grove, Glen Mount, Glen Court and Glendale Gardens, and Ingleborough Drive, which leads on to Arncliffe Crescent and Langthorne Court. The map labels the whole block The Glen, and Glen Store sits on it. Several names repeat with a different ending, so the full street name matters more than usual.
Topcliffe Lane, Topcliffe Grove and Topcliffe Fold keep the old name alive along the lane down to Tingley Common, and Topcliffe Beck runs nearby. To the north-west, Magpie Lane is one-way on part of its length, and the newer streets beyond carry bird names: Owl Ridge, Falcon Mews, Merlin Close, and Peacock Green, itself one-way, with Curlew Rise, Dunnock Croft and Sandpiper Approach off it.
How the van gets to Topcliffe
Topcliffe Lane joins Tingley Common, the A650, and Texas Street, a short 10 mph link, also runs between the two. Glen Road meets Topcliffe Lane at one end and Magpie Lane at the other. From Bradford the van follows the A650 past the Gildersome roundabout and on towards Tingley roundabout, where the A650 meets the M62 and the A653.
The drive from Bradford is roughly 25 to 35 minutes. That is an estimate from route data, not a timed run, and traffic changes it.
