Junction 33 or 34: reaching Sheffield's trade estates
The motorway exit decides the run. Junction 34 serves Meadowhall, Tinsley, Sheffield Business Park and the Attercliffe units, while junction 33 brings the van onto the Parkway, past Catcliffe and Handsworth to Parkway Business Park, Parkway Central and the trade counters on Staniforth Road. The Parkway is a dual carriageway that can be very congested at peak times, so a run is planned for mid-morning where possible.
On the north-west side, Penistone Road runs past Hillfoot, Peacock and Parkwood estates towards Hillsborough, which is reached more easily from junction 35. City-centre shops sit inside the Clean Air Zone, which charges vans below Euro 6 diesel or Euro 4 petrol, and the City Centre permit zone runs seven days. A drop at an Ecclesall Road or Sharrow Vale Road shop is easiest before the morning rush or after it.
What a Sheffield unit or shop needs to tell the driver
- The business name as it appears on the gate, the bay or door number and who will sign at the far end
- For Parkway Business Park, say which road the unit is on: Parkway Avenue, Parkway Drive or Parkway Close
- Steel sections, pipe or shelving up to 3.4m fit lengthways inside the Transit
- Pallets and heavy crates are unloaded by hand only if one person can manage them, so have a forklift or pallet truck waiting for anything bigger
- Opening hours for the Parkway wholesalers and trade counters, so the collection is not held up at the counter

Business & Trade Deliveries in Sheffield: your questions
Can the van run between our Attercliffe unit and a shop in the centre?
Yes, booked as one job with a price for both stops. Say how much is going and when the shop can take it, as the centre is in the Clean Air Zone and a seven-day permit zone.
Can you deliver to a shop on Ecclesall Road?
Yes. The van stops as close as it legally can and the goods go in by trolley, timed outside the morning rush.
Do you collect from the Parkway trade counters?
Yes. Send the supplier's address, the collection reference and their opening hours.
What is the longest item the van can carry?
Anything up to 3.4m fits inside, laid along the floor between the wheel arches, which are 1.3m apart.
